Teachers: 31 Parishioners who agreed to this experiment! Location: Room 122 3rd Graders primary emphasis this fall will be studying people of the Old Testament through stories, collage and other art, games, and music. Teachers: Ms. Tyler Goldberg and Ms. Angela Koshewa Location: Room 124 1st and 2nd Graders learn through “Godly Play” – an excellent curriculum created by Episcopal priest, Jerome Berryman. The stories of the Bible come to life for children as told by their storytellers. The stories are followed by a series of wondering questions and the work of children follows through art and using the materials to retell the stories. This class should not be disturbed while it is in progress except in an emergency. Storytellers: Ms. Laura Bomar, chair, Ms. Jodi Behr RN, Ms. Erin Hargan, Ms. Anne Farra, Ms. Libby Hardy, Mr. Joel Latto, and Ms. Amy Tucker Location: Room 126 3s, 4s and Kindergarteners are taught the stories of the bible through art creations during the 10:00 a.m. church hour that help children retell the stories at home. They continue their study during the education hour with stories and games. Teachers: Ms. Lauren Becker and Ms. Julie Ware; Our High School Youth (3rd Sundays) Location: Room 123 2s (22 months through 36 months) spend their mornings in parallel play with their peers. They learn how to share and how to be kind to your neighbors in a safe and nurturing environment. Teachers: Ms. Ann Wise, Ms. Sue Shaw and Ms. Leisa Baechler Location: Room 115 Nursery (birth through 21 months) is where children of our St. Matthew’s families first learn that the people who care for them CARE for them. During our 10:00 AM worship, second graders through fifth
graders are welcome to participate in an optional worship
service - The Bridge. The
is in Clingman Chapel which is on the main level off of the
narthex (lobby).

In The
Bridge, questions and discussion with children are encouraged in
an environment where children feel comfortable asking questions.
Our lay chaplains’ homilies are based on the Gospel lesson of the day. 1. In The Bridge, children are actively learning the “hows” and “whys” of our liturgy. |
