- A story of our ministry
- As Christ’s hands in the
world
2
- In the mid 1990’s Lucinda met Daniel, who was in the beginning of his
ministry of caring for orphans
3
- A bond was formed between the
- orphanage and St. Matthew’s
- We extended our hands to
another continent…

- Daniel, living in Oyugis at the time, had many children come to him for
help with basic needs:
- Including food, clothes, and shelter
- but the most pressing need was created by the death of their parents
from AIDs

- Because of this many of these orphans
- became street children
- were employed as house girls and farm boys
- were abused sexually, contracting AIDS
- became thieves to meet their needs, only to end up in approved prison
schools.
7
- To meet these children’s needs Daniel opened an orphanage –
- It is these children and this project St. Matthew’s has supported for
nearly a decade.
